AOI ASCOMS organizes free cancer screening camp – Jammu Kashmir Latest News | Tourism

JAMMU, May 12: American Oncology Institute (AOI), ASCOMS Hospital Jammu today organized a free cancer screening and awareness camp in association with World Cancer Care at Green Belt Park, Jammu today.
In the cancer screening camp, almost 500 patients were screened and examined by a team of Oncology specialists, Dr Nadeem Shoket (Medical Oncologist) and Dr Surbhi Kudyar (Breast Cancer Surgery Specialist) from AOI Jammu.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Neeraj Bishnoi, Regional COO, AOI said, “Besides conducting screening tests at the camp, we wanted to educate and create awareness about early detection in the public. The key to surviving cancer is early diagnosis and prevention. With this camp, AOI aims to motivate people and urge regular screening. We are committed to offering best-in-class clinical expertise, technological superiority, and service excellence for patients in J&K. AOI is the first and only exclusive Cancer Hospital in Jammu offering precision cancer care.”
Those present at the camp were Chander Mohan Gupta (Mayor Jammu), Dr K C Dogra (Deputy Director, Health), Sunaina Sharma Mehta (Additional Secretary J&K), Corporators Rahul Sharma, Bhanu Gupta, Rakesh Kumar, Hira Lal Abrol, Gourav Abrol. DK Batra, Manik Batra, Bhisham Batra, Dr Pavan Malhotra from ASCOMS management along with other delegates like Varuna Anand and Arti Mahajan Dhingra also graced the occasion.
As part of the organizing team of the mega camp, Dr Mayank Puri, Facility Director AOI Jammu, Aditya Sabharwal, Regional Head (North) Marketing for AOI and Ashutosh Gupta, Vigat Chandan, Anil Raina, Abhishek Jamwal and Vickey Dhar were also present along with the nursing and medical team of AOI Jammu and World Cancer Care.
More than 500 patients were screened at this first of its kind mega oncology and cancer screening camp in Jammu city where 4 buses cum mobile medical vans were present. It was informed that more such camps will also be organized in different cities and districts of Jammu after every 3 months, so that maximum people are made aware and screened for cancer as early detection can help increase the chances of survival and treatment success in cancer patients.
