Qatar, represented by the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, participated in the third regional workshop in the Middle East and North Africa (Mena) region in the Jordanian capital, Amman, on protecting 30% of the world’s seas and oceans by 2030 and the Conservation and Sustainable Use of Marine Biodiversity of Areas Beyond National Jurisdiction (ABNJ).
The workshop aimed to clarify the orientation of the global framework for biodiversity to protect 30% of the oceans, within the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD), during which visual presentations were made on the importance of protecting the target percentage of the oceans in a way that contributes to the sustainability of marine biodiversity.
