The European Union is organizing the “Bangladesh EU film festival” (BEUFF) to celebrate the 50th year of Bangladesh’s independence for the first time in the country.
This event is a token of the EU’s friendship with Bangladesh. Starting from 9 June and ending on 30 June, BEUFF will screen 7 films from Bangladesh, 7 feature films from Europe, and 7 international short films. Three of the seven Bangladeshi films will be premiered for the first time in the country! All European films will have Bangla subtitles.
Watch 21 of these critically acclaimed and universally applauded films from the comfort of your home during the pandemic. The themes explored by these diverse scales of films from all around the globe focusing on issues from female empowerment to climate change and breaking the barriers of culture and language. These cinematic masterpieces have been curated to perfection by BEUFF- based on their artistic merit and versatile depictions of the various complexities of human existences.
Along with this, filmmaking workshops, Q&A, and experience sharing sessions with film directors and artists from Bangladesh and Europe will be held.
