Georgian PM discusses investment agreement with Japan’s Development Bank Chairman

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili and Yasushi Kinoshita, the Chairman of the Development Bank of Japan, met on Tuesday as part of the World Economic Forum in Davos to discuss the recently signed business agreement between the two states, the Government Administration said.

At the meeting, Garibashvili and Kinoshita reviewed the agreement on liberalisation, promotion and protection of investments, noting the deal would have a “positive impact” on the advancement of the investment climate in Georgia and attract new investors.

Following the meeting Garibashvili tweeted about the importance of the bilateral investment agreement:

The two officials also discussed indicators of economic recovery in Georgia following the pandemic. 

Garibashvili invited a delegation from the Development Bank of Japan to Georgia to “gain first-hand knowledge and experience” about the business environment of the country.
