The Kerala government has received investment proposals of around Rs 30,000 crore for Vizhinjam port-related projects. These projects include those for green hydrogen and green ammonia as well.
It may be noted that the Kerala government, headed by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, has been in talks with three companies which have shown interests in projects including the production of green hydrogen and green ammonia.
As per reports, the chief minister has assigned KSEB to examine the proposals. The companies have pitched for the export of produce via Vizhinjam port to locations including Germany.
Two weeks ago, Vijayan had convened a meeting of the departments concerned to discuss the projects pitched by the companies.
As per information, one of the companies has proposed a green ammonia production and export project with an investment of Rs 22,061 crore. While another company has proposed Rs 8,763 crore project for the construction of an electrolyser plant meant for the production of green ammonia and green hydrogen. Details about the project pitched by the third company are not yet available.
