The Popular Sex and City Actress Kim Cattrall has officially joined the cast of Peacock’s Queer As Folk. She will be a recurring guest star as confirmed by the popular streaming network.

We were already excited to see Queer as Folk’s reboot after it was announced in 2018; but now that Kim Cattrall is casting in it, we’re practically bouncing off the walls in anticipation. You can find all about Cattrall’s role in this LGBTQ drama down below.

Cattrall’s Role as Recurring Guest Star

Kim Cattrall will be playing the role of a “martini-soaked, high-society Southern debutante with trailer park roots in the series” as described by Peacock. The name of her character has not been revealed as of yet. However, fans are still extremely excited to see their favorite New Yorker return to the screen.

She will be joined by several other popular stars including Grey’s Anatomy’s Devin Way, Big Sky’s Fin Argus, and Hack’s Johnny Sibilly. Other cast members include Jesse James Keitel, Candace Grace, and Ryan O’Connell. O’Connell will also be serving as co-executive producer for the series.

Release Date of Queer as Folk

Peacock green-lit Queer as Folk’s Season 1 for eight episodes. Executive Producer Stephen Dunn announced the news saying,

The Sopranos Cast and David Chase Have Said About the Heavily-debated Final Scene

“When the show originally aired, the idea of unapologetic queer stories on TV was so provocative that I felt I could only watch ‘Queer as Folk’ in secret.

But so much has changed in the last 20 years and how wonderful would it be if the next generation didn’t have to watch ‘Queer as Folk’ alone in their dank basements with the sound muted, but with their family and friends and the volume cranked to the max.”

Production for the first season has finally begun as the cast is finalized for good. Based on this, we can predict that Peacock’s Queer as Folk will come out in late 2022 or early 2023.
