The sixth annual Longmont Sustainability Awards gala will be held Saturday to recognize local leaders working to build a more environmentally-friendly city.
From 5 to 8 p.m., the gala will feature an awards program as well as a taco bar, silent auction and live music. Hosted by local nonprofit Sustainable Resilient Longmont, the event will take place at Intercambio, 1715 Iron Horse Drive.
Awards will be presented for Youth Environmental Leader, Volunteer of the Year, Public Servant of the Year, Sustainable Business in Zero Waste, and Sustainable Business in Renewable Energy. Sarah Thorne with the Colorado Energy Office will discuss sustainable transportation as the night’s keynote speaker.
Tickets are $60 when purchased online and $70 at the door. All proceeds benefit SRL and its focus areas of zero waste, renewable energy and Earth Day.
