Rich nations should invest more in energy transition: Brazil

Brazil is urging wealthier countries to foot the bill for the global switch to sustainable energy arguing that they need to make more bold commitments to make up for their dependence on polluting energy sources. 

This is according to a report by BNN Bloomberg published on Sunday. 

The global energy transition describes a profound change in how people generate, use, and think about energy. A number of interrelated causes, such as worries about climate change, the need for energy security, technological advancements, and shifting economic and geopolitical dynamics, are driving this evolution. Reducing greenhouse gas emissions, lessening the effects of global warming, and building a more sustainable and just global energy system are the main objectives of this sustained global effort that has seen increased efforts in the past few years.
