The Active Transportation Plan (ATP) was once again discussed by Smiths Falls council at this week’s committee of the whole meeting.
The ATP is essentially a blueprint councils can use now and in the future when they’re seeking ways to enhance cycling and walking infrastructure in town.
It proposes 145km worth of existing and new roads that can be reconfigured to encourage active transportation.
If councils green lighted every project listed, the costs would be around $4 million over 10 plus years of work.
All the councilors expressed gratitude to consulting firm WSP for creating a report like this which can on hand for future reference.
